[MbusReloaded]
Advanced bus trackingAbout
MBusReloaded provides helpful free applications using the University of Michigan's Magic Bus data. Our current flagship app is UmBus, which lets you see Magic Bus arrival times on your cell phone.
The Apps
UmBus
UmBus shows you University bus arrivals on your cell phone or mobile device. Text umbus to 41411 and you can find out when the bus is coming. Standard text messaging charges apply. Will not text you randomly (unless you subscribe, in which case you'll get occasional UmBus news). Now also available over AIM.
UmBus iPhone Edition
UmBus iPhone Edition shows Magic Bus times on your iPhone, Blackberry, or Android phone. Try it out on your PC or mobile phone at http://m.mbusreloaded.com/. It is designed to look like a native iPhone application.
AAPark
Get parking availability in Ann Arbor! Text aapark to 41411, just like UmBus.
Point2Stop
Sick of Michigan weather? Looking for the absolute closest bus stop to class? Try Point2Stop! Click a point on the map or enter an address and Point2Stop will show the 10 closest stops to that point. In the future, I'll be adding display of which route each stop is on as well as optional GPS tracking of your phone so you can find your way out of downtown Ann Arbor. NOTE: point2stop only examines the stops that are currently being serviced. Fixing it so that it lets you select from all stops will come with the previously-mentioned updates.
UmBus Alerts BETA
The idea that started it all -- pick a destination and the bus route(s) you want to take and go check your email. UmBus Alerts will pop up when you need to get up and head to the bus stop. Useful when you're in the lab at night and you keep forgetting to watch the Magic Bus site. WARNING, has a problem: if you say you need 10 minutes and Magic Bus, in its infinite wisdom, changes from 11 minutes right to 9 minutes, you will not be warned. We plan to fix this by letting you allow it to warn you from, say, 9 to 11 minutes in advance.
